Actor James Scully confirmed during an Instagram Q&A that his character on the Netflix series 'You' is not straight and 'never will be.'. While Forty dates women on the show and viewers never see him in a queer relationship, Scully has gone out of his way to preempt assumptions his character is straight. When one fan asked how the show decided Forty should be straight, Scully replied in a live Q&A on Instagram, "We didn’t, and he wasn’t, and he is not and never will be.”.
