Since its premiere performance on the steps of City Hall with members singing to stand up against discrimination and bigotry, the chorus has inspired the worldwide LGBTQIA+ choir movement. In the now-viral portrait, the majority of the men are dressed in black, some in white. This year’s show is a high-energy celebration of Pride and queer brilliance, featuring a spectacular soundtrack of anthems that span generations and genres. The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus joins the San Francisco Symphony in the ultimate tribute to love songs, All We Need is Love. Saturday, September 6,3pm. Our members represent diverse ethnic backgrounds—including African American, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Latino, Vietnamese, and Western European—and span generations, from their 20s to their 70s. They performed in churches, community centers, and concert halls in the hopes of uniting us during a difficult time. With over singers strong today, SFGMC is bringing people and communities together through the power of music.
